Learn Not to Get Barred When Performing Card Counting!

How Not to Get Barred from Casinos

It is not a secret for anyone that casinos do not like blackjack counters and frequently ask them to leave or to play another game. At this page we will describe what players errors help casino management to detect counters and how to act when you have got barred. We describe casinos countermeasures against skilled players and help you not to get barred for card counting.

Counter Measures:

The counter policy may vary from casino to casino. Some casinos do not pay any attention to counters, while others suspect everyone in card counting. New Jersey casinos, for example, are not permitted to bar counters at all.

Greed :

Card counters can be detected either because of too obvious betting pattern or by performing a physical action, like staring at other players cards. However, the thing that ruined many counters is their greed. They forget that they are watched and bet as if it was the last day of their life.

Noticeable Patterns :

  • First of all, it is very important to remember that table limits do not suppose to bet only the minimum ant the maximum. Such a pattern is very noticeable. If your high bet is 4-5 times larger than your low one, it is more than enough to profit from the game.
  • It is also advisable to vary your bets. Determine your high and low bet amounts and change these sums to both sides each time you bet, trying to keep the average more or less equal to the determined limits.
  • Purchase and use chips of different colors to confuse the dealer and disguise your betting pattern.
  • Sit only at the first or the third positions, so all players will be on the direct line from you. Otherwise you will need to turn your head to both sides during the whole game.
  • Do not stare at cards. Try to look disinterested and move your sight from object to object, as disinterested players do.
  • Do not stare at the discard tray. Occasionally take a look at it to evaluate the number of cards remaining in the shoe, but, generally try to keep this number in mind. Sunglasses can help a lot in this case, but you need to find a good excuse to wear them, because otherwise it will look suspicious. Polish your skills until you will be able to hold a conversation with other players and casino personnel while counting, and god save you from moving your lips saying the numbers.
  • Counters never drink, and casinos know that. Buy yourself a drink and make false sips. Get rid of it when you make a break.
  • Do not dress too elegantly. Gracefully worn people seem more intelligent to the casino personnel.
  • Do not perform any counting if the pit boss is near. Do not make any sudden changes, such as taking back part of your bet if the dealer decides to shuffle. If there is any other undesired action that can ruin your system, do not assume anything. Let everything flow naturally.

What to Do If You Are Detected:

Finally, if you have been detected, be polite and leave quickly without arguing. If you do so, casino personnel will not remember you and you will be able to come back in a month or so. In any case, you can return to the same casino the very same day in another shift, and keep coming when the shift that barred you is not in charge. Actually, you do not have to do even that. There are thousands if not millions of casinos in the world. Choose another one and continue winning money.
