Police arrested 100 gamblers in a Bangkok casino on New Years Eve.

Bangkok police raided illegal casino in a north Bangkok suburb on New Years Eve. According to the local media reports, the police arrested between 108 and 119 people who were gambling at the casino at the time. The police also confiscated from the casino 2,000,000 baht that comes to about 50,000 dollars.

It is the second time the casino was raided by the police. Last June the police raided it for the first time, confiscated 56,000,000 baht, and arrested 353 people. The police say that they plan to apply for a harsher punishment for the casino owner, since he was already on probation for operating an illegal casino.

Gambling is illegal in Thailand. Thai people who want to gamble safely, usually do it in Cambodia or in Myanmar, where gambling is legal.
