When Penn National Gaming reopens its Bay St. Louis casino later this year, it will have a new name.
The Casino Magic is changing its name to the Hollywood Casino.
The Hollywood Casino franchise has been very successful for Penn National Gaming in the Tunica, Miss., and Aurora, Ill., markets, and they are also using it in Maine and Pennsylvania with great success, and they are using the grand opening of the bay St. louis property to extend the use of this valuable name.
Hollywood Casino uses the same idea as the once popular planet Hollywood by using movie memorabilia from the stars and blockbuster films to bring people into the casino. The Hollywood casino in Tunica has items from the movie Titanic and items worn by Elvis.
Casino Magic Bay St. Louis was a truly unique and remarkable facility but unfortunately it was destroyed in the Hurricane but the newly renovated casino will open and be bigger and better then ever before, with more than 1,200 slot machines, 20 table games and six poker tables. The hotel tower will reopen with 291 guest rooms and 17,000 square feet of meeting space. A date for the reopening has not been set.
