Harrahs sells Gulfport Casino

Harrahs Entertainment Inc., the largest gambling company in the world, decided to sell its casino on Gulfport, Mississippi, instead of restoring it, after being destroyed by Hurricane Katrina last August. The company still intends to build a resort in Biloxi, where its floating casino was also damaged by the storm. The buyers of the Gulfport casino are Gulfside Casino Partnership, who also operates the Copa Casino, placed nearby. The price is still undisclosed. It will be sold in as is condition. The closing of the deal is expected in the beginning of next year, depending on state approvals.
