Only a mathematical genius can profit from blackjack.
This myth has its origin in a famous book of a mathematics professor Edward Thorpe, where he explains how to beat the casino at blackjack. The book does not contain any extra complicated materials, but the fact that its author is a professor of mathematics caused people who did not read the book, but only heard about it, to believe that the theory of blackjack is very hard to understand.
• Card tracking requires a photographic memory.
  Only a person who has no idea of what card counting is can think so. Even the most complicated card tracking system, once learnt, does not require the player to keep more than one single number in mind. The most complicated part of card counting is to memorize the values of the cards, which has nothing to do with photographic memory.
• Dealers deal too fast to keep track of the cards.
  Dealers can not deal any faster than the player hits or stands, therefore, the person who sets the pace of the game is the player. Although, some dealers may try to create pressure on the player to speed up the game, they can not force the player to play any faster than he wants to. Besides, card counting systems are design to work very fast. So, if you think, the cards are dealt to fast to count, you probably need to train a bit more.
• It is impossible to track cards in a game with four or six decks.
  The complicity of card counting does not depend on the number of the cards. The only difference between a one deck and a six decks game is that in a six decks game, the system will take effect later, but it will also keep being effective for longer time, so overall efficiency will not change. Another thing is that one full cycle of a six decks game lasts much longer, and the counter is more likely to make mistakes, but once again, it is a question of practice, and for a good counter, six decks game is not a problem at all.
• Blackjack can be profitable only with a huge bankroll.
  What card counting guarantees is winning a certain percentage of the bets you place. With a small bankroll, the player must wager less to not remain without money, and, therefore, he will win less, so it will take much longer to profit from the game significantly. However, 200 dollars bankroll is large enough to start from.
