Proper Blackjack Etiquette
- If you are not playing at the Blackjack table and just want to be a spectator, do it from a distance. This does not mean be 10 feet away but stand behind the players and do not crowd them, and do not try to get a look at their cards.
- If there are seats at the Blackjack table they are for players not for watching the action. If you are sitting and watching someone may want to play and not realize you are just watching. If you are too tired to stand go to your room or the bar.
- For every 5 hands of blackjack you play tip the dealer. This is not a rule just a good practice. Remember the dealer dos not profit from the house winnings, they are just trying to make a living.
- If you are going to consume alcohol when playing Blackjack, order your drink between rounds so as not to slow down the game which will annoy the other players.
- Try to make your bets in a timely manner don't rush yourself into something stupid but if you are being indecisive you are going to anger the other people who are trying to enjoy themselves at a game of Blackjack.
- When you first sit down say hi to the other players at the Blackjack table :Hi I am bob"is ok but don't ramble on. No one cares where you are from, or what your favorite smell is.
- When you are done playing at the Blackjack table, stand up and thank the dealer even if you have lost. All the dealer did was turn over the cards you picked the table and the seat. And remember to tip the dealer.
These rules may seem a little anti social but that is the nature of the game. People are trying to concentrate and pay close attention to every card. And do not want to be distracted with nonsense.
